About the course
The training is delivered in a face-to-face mode over two days. Training includes both theory and practical exercises using brake testing equipment. Participants will be required to complete written assessments and test the relevant heavy and light vehicles and mobile plants.
All learners undertaking this course, are experienced workers who have a minimum of 2 years’ workshop experience. It is appropriate to deliver and assess this training course over a shorter period, because the workers already have many of the underpinning skills and knowledge required.
All learners are required to brake test nine (9) vehicles for the practical assessment.
Three (3) different light vehicles – Less than 4.5t GVM ute etc
Three (3) different medium/heavy vehicles (More than 4.5t GVM) – Trucks / Buses etc
Three (3) different items of Mobile Plant (Non-Road Going) – Rear Dumps / Water Carts / Forklifts / Loaders / Graders etc

- Training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer / assessors who have resource industry currency and supported by a strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
- Practical and theoretical activities drive the training experience to ensure that the training is engaging, interesting and relevant.
- 2 days of training. Up to 6 trainees per course. A typical course runs from 07:30-15:30
